Almond Chocolate chip cookies


        2 1/4 cups flour

        1 tsp. soda

        1 tsp. salt

        3/4 cup granulated sugar

        3/4 cup brown sugar

        1 cup soft shortening

        1 tsp. vanilla

        1/2 tsp. water

        2 eggs

        1 12 oz pkg. Chocolate chips

        1 cup coarsely chopped almonds

Heat oven to 375 deg F. Mix together flour, baking soda, salt; set aside. Combine shortening, sugars, vanilla, water; beat until creamy. Beat in 2 eggs. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped almonds. Drop by well-rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 8 dozen cookies.
